3Even the sparrow has found a home, And the swallow a nest for herself, Where she may lay her young-- Even Your altars, O LORD of hosts, My King and my God.

1Now when He concluded all His sayings in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum.

2And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die.

3So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant.

4And when they came to Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should do this was deserving,

5"for he loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue."

6Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof.

7Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.

8For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, "Go,' and he goes; and to another, "Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, "Do this,' and he does it."

9When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, "I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!"

10And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick.

8LORD, I have loved the habitation of Your house, And the place where Your glory dwells.

7That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, And tell of all Your wondrous works.

1Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

2Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.

3And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.

4So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.

5And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house."

6So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully.

7But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner."

8Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold."

9And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham;

10for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

1Then indeed, even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service and the earthly sanctuary.

2For a tabernacle was prepared: the first part, in which was the lampstand, the table, and the showbread, which is called the sanctuary;

3and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All,

4which had the golden censer and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant;

5and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.

6Now when these things had been thus prepared, the priests always went into the first part of the tabernacle, performing the services.

7But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people's sins committed in ignorance;

8the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.

9It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience--

10concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.

1Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,

2as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,

3if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

4Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,

5you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

6Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, "Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame."

7Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, "The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone,"

8and "A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense." They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

9But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

10who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
